In the summer of 1994, my healthy 13-year old daughter succumbed to Systemic Myasthenia Gravis. Systemic Myasthenia Gravis is a muscular dystrophy with symptoms of double vision, droopy eyelids, respiratory difficulties, facial paralysis, arm and leg weakness, and constant fatigue. My daughter's diagnosis in 1994 only allowed my faith to grow.Image of Daughter

Proper nutrition to prevent an illness is our best choice. However, many of us succumb to an illness before we are willing to change our nutritional intake. Once we acquire an illness, it is necessary to change our nutritional intake to include whole nutritional foods. Avoiding foods to which we may be allergic is imperative as well as avoiding foods that may allow our illness to become worse. Knowing one's blood type can also improve the knowledge to healing the body.

De-toxing our body may be necessary as well as proceeding alternative treatments and nutritional supplements. Avoiding dependence on prescription drugs to cure an illness is important; it will not happen. Drugs only put a short-term Band-Aid on an illness masking the symptoms instead of curing them.

My daughter did not respond to the medication given to myasthenics to control the symptoms. She acquired all of the symptoms above and 'gave in' to a wheelchair for mobility. God's control of my daughter's health became our only answer.

To facilitate in the healing of my daughter's illness, God directed me to educate myself in Alternatives to a Healthy Body by researching not only Myasthenia Gravis but also nutrition for all of her symptoms. Hours of prayer gave me knowledge of God's healing hands, and His grace began her healing. My daughter withstood several alternative treatments, which continued to stabilize her. With the ingenuity of an alternative medical doctor, we chose to treat the cause of her illness and not just the symptoms.

Many friends observed my daughter's improvement as her symptoms diminished each day. They began to ask me what contributed to her improvement of this muscular dystrophy. Explaining better nutrition for better health and clarifying the use of alternative treatments, I became encouraged to help others by sharing our knowledge.

Today, my daughter is a healthy young adult whose only symptom of Myasthenia Gravis is occasional fatigue. She continues good nutrition, intermittent oxygen therapies, and de-toxing procedures. She also follows a structured vitamin, mineral, and herbal nutritional supplement program for her continued health.

Hours of studying and research, and a Master's and Doctorate' degree in Nutrition is the beginning of my story of GOOD NUTRITION for BETTER HEALTH with "HEALTHY START."
